Sail Cape Cod Announces 2014 ‘Learn-To-Sail’ Course Schedule
Hyannis, MA - Sail Cape Cod, a local non-profit Community Sailing Program has posted its 2014 summer schedule for Adult & Family ‘Learn-To-Sail’ instruction courses which are conducted in Lewis Bay.
“We want to provide beginners, whether as individuals, couples or as a family unit, with a basic working knowledge of sailing through these affordable on-water classes”, said Bryony Scudder, Program Director for the organization.
Sail Cape Cod's 'Adult Learn-To-Sail' course ($199 per person) consists of (6) two-hour lessons, with sessions being held on weekday evenings. The ‘Family Learn-To-Sail’ course ($199 per family of 2-4 persons) consists of (3) two-hour lessons, with sessions held on Saturday afternoons.
The curriculum has been specially designed for Sail Cape Cod by Scudder, a US Sailing Association Certified Instructor. “Our goals of the program are for the participants to: Have Fun, Be Safe, and Gain Confidence”, according to Scudder. In addition to offering instructional programs, Sail Cape Cod also provides on-the-water Outreach Programs in collaboration with local human service organizations on the Cape dealing with disabilities and at-risk youth.
