Right here in the heart of Cape Cod, the Hyannis Harbor area serves as a practical and idyllic focal point for Cape Cod’s maritime economy, maritime education, and maritime recreational opportunities. From the activities of Hyannis harbor and the surrounding area we are able to strength our local community by making smart and strategic investments in our local maritime industry, including: recreation, tourism, natural marine resources, education, events, and other market driven services.
Through a collaboration of local businesses, non-profits, educational institutions, and other stake holders we can better serve our community through the maximum use of our incredible harbor, bay, and surrounding areas.
Sail Cape Cod & the Cape Cod Knockabout Class
Sail Cape Cod and the Cape Cod Knockabout Class Association have teamed up to promote the sport of sailing, as well as the beauty & the sea worthiness of the Cape Cod Knockabout Class as both a racing and recreational boat!
In the 2017 season, Sail Cape Cod received an extraordinary donation of six newly built Cape Cod Knockabouts, and we now run many of our Youth, Adult, and Community Learn to Sail and Racing programs on the fleet.
“Many Cape Codders have at one point or another sailed the Knockabout, myself included. It is an impressive class and I cannot think of anything more idyllic to the Cape Cod experience than being out on a Cape Cod Knockabout. To have our participants share in this experience is an incredible opportunity that we are nothing but grateful to have!”
-Josh Richards, Executive Director of Sail Cape Cod
